A Spooktacular Halloween at Lincolnshire Showground🎃🌶️🔥
What an absolutely phenomenal experience! From the moment we arrived at the beautiful Lincolnshire Showground, there was something wonderfully exciting in the air. This was a completely new adventure for Jerk Centre because, believe it or not, we’d never traded through the evening and into the night before! We weren’t entirely sure what to expect, especially with the unpredictable British weather and the prospect of standing outside on a chilly October evening. But Halloween had other plans for us! The weather was surprisingly kind, Apart from the devilish thick fog, which swept through later on in the evening. The atmosphere was electric, and the wonderful people who came out to celebrate made the entire experience unforgettable. Once again, we found ourselves surrounded by laughter, curiosity, brilliant conversations and lovely customers eager to discover our award-winning Jamaican jerk sauces and dressing. And as daylight gradually disappeared, the Showground transformed into a spectacular world of lights, costumes, excitement and Halloween magic! 🎃✨
A Gangster Witch, a Gangster Warlock and One Very Suspicious Pumpkin! 😂🔥
Now, anyone who knows me will tell you that I don’t believe in doing things by halves, especially when there’s an opportunity to have a little fun! So naturally, our Jerk Centre gazebo needed a proper Halloween makeover. Forget ordinary decorations! We had teddy bears wearing ghoul masks, suspended from the canopy like a rather mischievous collection of haunted little creatures. I carved a pumpkin and gave him his very own personality by placing a partially empty bottle of our fiery Badman Sauce straight into his mouth! Clearly, even our Halloween decorations have excellent taste in Jamaican sauce! 😂
🌶️ Beside him sat a thick bundle of tied sage, ready for a little Halloween atmosphere, and something especially precious to me: my Mum’s beautiful little crystal bowl. I filled it with around 100 miniature shrunken plastic skulls, creating a wonderfully spooky display. Having something of Mum’s there made the occasion feel even more special. And, of course, Vince and I couldn’t possibly turn up dressed normally! I transformed myself into a Gangster Witch, while Vince became my partner in crime, the Gangster Warlock! Between us, our spooky decorations and those fiery bottles of Badman Sauce, I think we made quite the Halloween pair! 🖤🎩
Family, Fireworks and Memories That Money Can't Buy ❤️🚀
But the really special part of the evening was being able to share it with our youngest son, Drake, and his friend, who came along to enjoy the Halloween celebrations. Drake was dressed as an astronaut, ready for an adventure that was quite literally out of this world! 🚀❤️ There is something incredibly heartwarming about being able to combine building our business with creating beautiful family memories. And then came the fireworks! Oh my goodness, what an extraordinary display! The night sky erupted into magnificent bursts of colour, with dazzling explosions of light illuminating the Showground and our little Jerk Centre gazebo below.
Watching the fireworks soar overhead was simply breathtaking. I’ve included some of those wonderful moments in our videos because words alone could never quite capture the spectacle. Looking around at the excitement, the families enjoying themselves and the sheer beauty of the evening, I felt incredibly grateful to be there. Here we were, sharing our Jamaican flavours, enjoying a spectacular celebration and spending time together as a family. These are the moments that make every early morning, every long journey and every exhausting preparation worthwhile. 🎆💛💚
The People Make Every Adventure Worthwhile
Something we’ve discovered since taking Jerk Centre on the road is that every event has its own personality, but one thing remains beautifully consistent: the people. Whether we’re trading in a bustling Lincolnshire market, at a seaside event or beneath a sky filled with Halloween fireworks, we continue to meet the most extraordinary individuals. People who stop for a conversation, enjoy a little banter, taste our sauces and share their own stories with us. Some arrive looking rather nervous about the heat, while others proudly announce their love of seriously spicy food.
And that’s when the fun really begins! Because as we always say at Jerk Centre, it’s DINNER, NOT PUNISHMENT! 😂🔥 We love watching customers discover that Jamaican jerk sauce is about incredible flavour first, followed by that beautiful warmth that lingers long after the first taste. To everyone who visited our Halloween stand, shared a laugh, sampled our sauces or supported our little business, thank you. You may not realise it, but every kind word and every genuine connection means the world to us.
And as for the future?
Not everyone gets to discover something that brings them this much joy, especially when embarking on a new chapter in life. But I have, and I am so incredibly grateful. Jerk Centre is becoming much more than a business to me. It’s an adventure, a passion, a creative outlet, a chance to connect with people and an opportunity to build something meaningful with the people I love.
So, Lincolnshire Showground, thank you for giving us another truly unforgettable memory. Thank you to everyone who made Halloween 2026 so special, and thank you to every wonderful person who continues to support our journey.
