Jerk Steak and Sweet Potato Salad

This Jerk Steak and Sweet Potato Salad is bold, hearty and packed with Caribbean flavour. Tender slices of steak are coated in Jerk Centre Duppy Conqueror Sauce, then grilled until juicy, smoky and lightly charred.

The roasted sweet potatoes add natural sweetness and warmth, while crisp salad leaves, avocado, cherry tomatoes and red onion keep the dish fresh, colourful and balanced. Finished with lime and fresh herbs, every bite brings together smoky jerk spice, caramelised sweetness, creamy avocado and refreshing crunch.

It is a satisfying salad that works beautifully as a filling lunch, light dinner or BBQ-style main — fresh enough for summer, but hearty enough to feel like a proper meal.

Best Jerk Centre Sauce to Use

Duppy Conqueror — rich medium heat that pairs perfectly with beef.

Instructions

  1. Toss sweet potato cubes with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  2. Roast at 200°C for 20–25 minutes until golden and soft.
  3. Coat the steaks with Duppy Conqueror Sauce.
  4. Pan-fry or grill the steaks to your liking, then rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Slice the steak thinly.
  6. Arrange salad leaves, tomatoes, red onion, avocado and sweet potato in a bowl.
  7. Add the sliced jerk steak.
  8. Mix lime juice and honey, then drizzle over the salad.

Ingredients

2 sirloin steaks
3 tbsp Jerk Centre Duppy Conqueror Sauce
2 large sweet potatoes, cubed
1 tbsp olive oil
1 bag rocket or mixed leaves
200g cherry tomatoes
1 red onion, sliced
1 avocado, sliced
Juice of 2 limes
1 tsp honey
Salt and black pepper

Mango salsa
Extra lime wedges
A small pot of Duppy Conqueror Sauce on the side
